There are four main villages on the island: Milos, Scala / Skala, Limenaria and Metochi. The vast majority of visitors head for Scala which is the most recently developed of the resorts and has the best beaches and widest choice of accommodation.
Life on Agistri is like being in a different world to the hustle and bustle of city life. The culture and customs of the islanders remain largely unaffected by today’s pace of life and visitors will find a genuinely friendly and warm welcome.
The ethos of the Agistriotis is to enjoy life, to enjoy the beauty of the natural world around them in this wonderful location, and to provide a highly professional service to their guests.
Agistri is a relaxed island but having said this, there are plenty of things for our visitors to enjoy during their stay.
The majority choose sunbathing and swimming from our sandy beaches in the day time, then enjoying their choice of evening venue for their dinner. Others, perhaps more energetic, enjoy walking / hiking, cycling, kayaking, diving courses and boat trips.
Whilst the Oasis Hotel has an extensive day time and dinner menus, naturally visitors enjoy drinks and dining at different venues. At Scala’s range of tavernas and cafe – bars, there is something to suit everybody.
Scala beach has fine sand, gently shelving into the shallow waters, making it safe for adults and children alike. The sea is a beautiful blue and crystal clear.
Along the coastal road between Scala and Milos, there are many areas of pebbled beach to enjoy with tavernas on hand for cooling drinks and lunches. Usually, if visitors use the tavernas to drink or eat, the sunbeds on the beach opposite are free to use. Enjoy the lovely sunsets!
Other, more secluded beaches are situated around the island and these can be reached by car, bike, boat or on foot.
